Although the data created by statutory testing is only one part of what we do here at The Coppice, it is indicative of our focus on high quality teaching and learning and our desire to ensure that all of our pupils meet their potential. Our data is the result of the hard work of the staff, the engagement with learning of our pupils and the support provided by our parents and I think we should all be proud of the part we have played in ensuring our pupils reach their potential.
The information in the links below allows you to compare the school’s performance with the attainment of other pupils across England in the statutory areas of data:
-End of Early Years Foundation Stage
-Year 1 Phonics Screening Check
-End of Key Stage 2 Statutory Assessment Tests
SATs stands for Standard Assessment Tests, which are national exams primary school children in England take in May to measure their progress in English (reading, writing, spelling, grammar, punctuation) and Maths, helping to assess both student achievement and school performance.
Children’s attainment at the end of KS2 is reported with a scaled score, where 100 indicates the expected standard and 110 indicates a higher level of attainment. Performance and progress in writing continues to be teacher assessed. Writing data is subject to Local Authority moderation every four years. This is where all teacher assessment judgements for writing are scrutinised to ensure accuracy in the school’s assessment processes.
