At The Coppice Primary School, we are proud to offer regular Forest Rangers sessions to our Nursery, Reception and Year One children. Year Two children also visit our Forest Rangers site once per half term. Forest Rangers provides a child-centred learning process that supports the holistic, social and emotional, physical and intellectual development of our children. It enables children to develop play skills, work as part of a team, problem solve and take risks in a safe and nurturing environment.We are proud to have a well-designed Forest Rangers site on our school field. This area is a small woodland area just a small walk from our school building. All sessions begin at our ‘Base Camp’ where rules are outlined and explained. The children may then play a circle game or take part in an activity focusing on their senses. Planned activities are demonstrated to the children and they then have the choice to take part in these or lead their learning through play and exploration.The following documents explain the details behind our Forest Rangers Approach:
