We value the working relationships we have with other schools and school to school support and challenge is vital to our continued development. Such school to school partnerships ensure that our school is outward-facing and understands that we can always learn from others.
The Coppice Primary School is proud to be part of a Peer Review programme involving schools across Worcestershire. This programme is organised and overseen by The Black Pear Trust in conjunction with The Learning, Joy, Success Educational Consultancy, and we first became part of this programme in the academic year 24-25.
Within the model, each school is placed in a triad or quad of schools who then carry out an annual peer review of an aspect of teaching or learning that the school receiving the peer review would like the reviewers (Headteachers and Senior staff from the other schools) to focus on.
The schools with whom The Coppice are partnered are Beaconside Primary & Nursery in Rubery and School and Millfields First School in Bromsgrove.
Each school within our group has something distinctive to share and we can all learn from each other’s good practice. We see ourselves as critical friends who are collaborating for further school improvement whilst also retaining our uniqueness and individuality.
We use the opportunities that this collaborative approach provides to develop school leadership, teaching and learning, administration and governance.
We work in a supportive and challenging capacity so as to have an impact upon school improvement and to ensure that all schools in the network are provided with appropriate systems and support that enable them to maintain strong provision and outcomes.
We also have an excellent relationship with Woodrush High School whom we share a site with. Our transition arrangements are very thorough and effective and Woodrush staff always comment on how well prepared our children are to start their secondary education with them. Due to our excellent relationship, we are increasingly looking to collaborate further on areas such as curriculum progression, in order that The Coppice children continue their learning journey as strongly as they can in their first couple of years at secondary school.
