Key Stage One
Key Stage One - Years 1 and 2
The children have a gentle transition from Reception to Year 1 and gradually they start the National Curriculum.
This consists of: English, Mathematics, Science, ICT, DT, History, Geography, Art, Music and PE (with Forest School in Year 1).
In addition, in accordance with statutory requirements all pupils study Religious Education which encompasses a wide range of faiths.
The National Curriculum is not the whole curriculum. We need to take account of many other aspects of education. These may include Health Education, Personal and Social Education, Environmental Education, Economic Awareness and Citizenship.
At the end of Year 2 the children complete their Key Stage 1 SATs.
