Sharing Effective Practice Mark

We have strong links with several other primary schools, and regularly share our good practice and expertise with them. This is a two way process, and we have been able to glean things from other schools too. On some occasions we partner schools (often this is for the purpose of moderation).

Mr Heptinstall, in his role of Local Leader of Education (LLE), has been active in supporting schools in an Ofsted category and as Professional Partner. We have also seconded staff to other schools over the last three years to help out there.

Other schools have come to view our practice in Early Years (which Ofsted judged outstanding in 2012). Similarly, we have shared some of our expertise in Speech and Language development as well as data management systems. Most recently, we have helped other schools by sharing effective methods of staff appraisal as well as our good practice in teaching mathematics; eight schools from the Devon Woodwater Academy visited us for this.

For our work with other schools we have received a Sharing Effective Practice Mark on two consecutive years.
